Synopsis Tiuru, a 16-year-old shield-bearer jeopardizes his bright future when a dying knight commands him to deliver a mysterious and most important letter to the King of Unauwen. Directors Biography Pieter Verhoeff is born February 4, 1938 in Lemmer. He is a Dutch film director. He studied at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy and graduated in 1966. He is best known for his films The Mark of the Beast (1980), De Dream (1985) and The Moving True Story of a Woman Ahead of Her Time (2001). All three stories take place in his native Friesland. He won two Golden Calf's in his career.
