Synopsis This whimsical and visually striking valentine to the ’80s is a hysterically funny homage to childhood and the movies. Entranced by a pirated copy of First Blood, two extremely opposite kids set out to make the ultimate action prequel. Their innocent ambition to create their own epic leads to a precarious rollercoaster adventure and an unlikely friendship that is pushed, quite literally, to the breaking point. This is loosely autobiographical quasi-coming-of-age tale from Garth Jennings, director of the amusing Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy feature.
Directors Biography Garth Jennings is born in 1972, Epping, Essex, England. He's famous for making music videos with friend and cohort Nick Goldsmith under their London-based production banner hammer & tongs. They're best known for their work on music videos for Blur (Coffee & TV) and Supergrass (Pumping on Your Stereo). Jennings have moved on to directing movies, his debut is 2005 film version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Son of Rambow is partly based on Garth's childhood experiences of film making with a camcorder.
