Novelties: Film@CRO and Big 5 |
‘We are pleased to inform you that in this year’s side programme Film@CRO we will screen foreign films shot in Croatia, among which are ‘Tin Drum’ by Volker Schloendorff, ‘The Trial’ by Orson Welles and 'Die Finanzen des Grossherzogs' by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. DVD of Murnau’s film which is the oldest preserved film made in Croatia in 1923. will be released during the festival. We are also immensely proud of the fact that our festival opens with a short film 'Agram Haupstadt Kroatiens' filmed by Oktavijan Miletić in 1943. This exquisite piece of art, directed by one of the founders of Croatian film, produced by the Germans has never been shown in Croatia. Bundesarchiv is just restorating a copy that will be donated to Croatian Film Archives. As a part of the Big 5 programme, we will showcase films made in five biggest European national film productions – France, Spain, United Kingdom, Italy and Germany’, announced Boris T. Matić, head of Zagreb Film Festival. |
