Locarno presented on 6th ZFF |
Locarno International Film Festival , the most influential cultural event of the Ticino canton, was presented in the Press centre (SC gallery) yesterday by Marco Solari, director of the festival that is being considered one of the most important events in the world of film.
Since summer 1946. when the first festival took place, Locarno has taken its important position on the global film festival map. About 190 000 visitors, 1000 journalists and 3200 film professionals pour into the picturesque little town in the south of Switzerland each August.
This festival is well known for the beautiful open-air stage located on the city square Piazza Grande, as well as the homely atmosphere featuring films from renowned directors and debutants, recent productions and retrospectives. |
