Ladies and gentlemen, tonight at 6 p.m. in the Press centre we will be presenting a DVD edition of the oldest preserved film made in Croatia ‘The Grand Duke’s Finances’ (1923.), courtesy of the Murnau foundation. All attendees will receive their own copy of the DVD. By pure chance this adventurous comedy by the famous director Murnau was preserved until present day as the oldest film ever shot in Croatia! For the first time since 1925 this DVD will return Murnau to Croatia.
Thanks to the perfectly restored picture quality and the new background piano music recording ‘The grand Duke’s finances’ witnesses about how Dalmatia used to look like, but is also a typically entertaining film in its own right. |
