'Takva' in cinema EUROPA |
| From 26th of February on, we will be screening turkish film 'Takva - a Man's Fear of God' directed by Özer Kiziltan in cinema EUROPA. 'Takva', produced by acclaimed director Fatih Akin has been shown and excelently received as a part of international competition programme on 5th ZFF. The movie is centered around humble and introvert Muharrem (fabulous Erkan Can) who lives in sexual abstinence adhering strictly to the most severe Islamic doctrines. When Muharrem accidentaly ends up working as a rent collector for rich religious cult, he is thrown into the modern world he has successfully avoided for so long. With the balance of his devotion now upset, his fear of God begins to slowly corrupt his psyche. Awards: Berlinale 2007., Panorama -FIPRESCI prize, Heart of Sarajevo 2007. |
