PRESENTATION: SARAJEVO CITY OF FILM From Talent Campus to making first movies Sarajevo Talent Campus is an educational program of Sarajevo Film Festival initiated in 2007 in collaboration with the International Film Festival in Berlin and Berlinale Talent Campus. In the program of workshops, lectures, expert panels and practical exercise, Sarajevo Talent Campus provides young film talents with additional education and connection with the European and world film industry, and encourages them to realize their first projects (films) together with their colleagues from the region. Sarajevo Talent Campus is open for the applications by young film professionals and senior students of film schools in 13 countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey, UNMI Kosovo. The program is aimed at the following professional categories: 1. directors 2. producers 3. actors/actresses 4. script writers Sarajevo City of Film is a project which naturally follows the aims defined within Sarajevo Talent Campus and it was initiated by the Cinema Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports - Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of the project is to test the knowledge and experience of the participants of Sarajevo Talent Campus in their practical implementation through making low-budget short films. In 2008 Sarajevo Film Festival initiated the fund Sarajevo City of Film which enables the participants of Sarajevo Talent Campus to realize their projects (films) by means of grants. In this way, not only that it creates an opportunity for reaching tangible practical outcomes resulting from the experience of participating in the Talent Campus, but also encourages collaboration among young creative authors whose work represents the future of the regional cinema. Creating network of young film talents and their mutual cooperation will be located in Sarajevo which profiles as the film center of the region and is known as a crossroad of different cultures, religions and as a place open to flow of different ideas.
